Our management team brings deep industry insight to the investment process. Executive Managing Principal

Rockwell Hopkins

Mr. Hopkins serves as Managing Principal of Paravest Capital, LLC. Hopkins is responsible for the strategic vision of the company, investor client relationships, investment strategies and sourcing. He is an investment committee member with over 38 years of experience in real estate. Before co-founding Paravest, Mr. Hopkins spent 10 years as Chief Executive Officer of White Rock Commercial where he was responsible for directing all operations including real estate acquisitions and development, project planning and design, financing, construction and marketing. He was also directly responsible for the company's capital market relationships. Prior to White Rock Commercial, Mr. Hopkins spent seven years as Chief Financial Officer of INVESCO Real Estate where he was responsible for administering INVESCO's global expansion strategy. Prior to INVESCO, Hopkins spent 14 years with various divisions of the Trammell Crow organization. His experience with them included working with Trammell Crow Company, Crow Holdings, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, and Trammell Crow Residential. Mr. Hopkins graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. 

 
 
 

 
 

Director of Investments

Stephen Wheatcroft

Mr. Wheatcroft is the Director of Investments at Paravest Capital, L.L.C. He is responsible for overseeing all new and existing investments and leads the sourcing, acquisition, portfolio management and deal structuring of all assets. Mr. Wheatcroft has prior real estate experience in acquisitions, development, and portfolio management. Prior to joining Paravest, he held positions at Westmount Realty Capital, JPI and Arbor Realty Trust. At Westmount, he sourced, underwrote, and managed all opportunities in the DFW area and helped lead the firm’s strategic expansion into the Southeast. This led to over $100M in equity and $200M in debt placement among multiple properties across the United States. At JPI, he underwrote all new land acquisitions and assisted throughout the entire development process. At Arbor Realty, he underwrote over $100M in real estate transactions in conjunction with agency guidelines. Mr. Wheatcroft attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics as well as a Master of Real Estate from The Mays School of Business.

 
 

 
 

Director of capital markets

Richard Hood

Mr. Hood serves as Director of Capital Markets at Paravest Capital, LLC. His primary focus is on managing capital raising transactions and driving strategic growth initiatives. Mr. Hood’s career has focused on business development, private placements, and capital markets, primarily supporting companies and individuals across various industries and stages of development. Prior to joining Paravest, Mr. Hood held a pivotal role at Texas Securities, Inc. There, he specialized in raising capital for private placements within the Energy sector. During his tenure at TSI, Mr. Hood obtained several licenses from FINRA, including Series 7, 63, 22, and SIE, which are essential for conducting securities business. His tenure there equipped him with invaluable experience in navigating complex financial transactions. Mr. Hood graduated from Texas Tech University, marking the beginning of his journey in finance and capital markets. Mr. Hood's expertise extends across diverse industries and encompasses on capital raising and exit strategies.

 

Financial Principal

GERALD J FORD

Mr. Gerald J. Ford is a banking and financial institutions entrepreneur who has been involved in numerous mergers and acquisitions of private and public sector financial institutions, primarily in the Southwestern United States, for more than 45 years. In that capacity, he acquired and consolidated 30 commercial banks from 1975 to 1993, forming First United Bank Group, Inc., a multi-bank holding company for which he functioned as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer until its sale in 1994. During this period, he also led investment consortiums that acquired numerous financial institutions, forming in succession, First Gibraltar Bank, FSB, First Madison Bank, FSB and First Nationwide Bank. Mr. Gerald J. Ford also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Golden State Bancorp Inc. and its subsidiary, California Federal Bank, FSB, from 1998 to 2002. He currently serves as a director of Hilltop Holdings, a Dallas based financial holding company. Mr. Ford has held this role since 2007, and is also the company's largest shareholder. Hilltop's primary line of business is to provide business and consumer banking services from offices located throughout Texas through PlainsCapital Bank. Hilltop's common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "HTH." Mr. Gerald J. Ford previously served as Chairman of Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold Inc. and Pacific Capital Bancorp and a director of Scientific Games Corporation, First Acceptance Corporation, SWS Group, Inc. and McMoRan Exploration Co. Mr. Gerald J. Ford also currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Southern Methodist University, is the Co-Managing Partner of Ford Financial Fund II, L.P. and Ford Financial Fund III, L.P., private equity funds.
